In February 2009 we spent a weekend in a supermarket which is continuously open round-the-clock from monday 9 am to saturday 12 pm (opening hours like this are very rare in Germany). We were filming the scene and interviewing customers and the personnel. We only did a break on Saturday morning to get some sleep and on Sunday when the market is closed.

The result is a 38 min long HD-film published on a Blue Ray disk (among with two more documentaries by other film-makers from Bremen). The aim of the documentary is to get to know the kind of people who are shopping at night and to show why they are doing this in the night time. Furthermore we examined whether there are social differences between people shopping at night and people shopping in the daytime. It became a very light-hearted documentary and the reactions during and after the screenings were very positive.

I was the camera unit and did the cutting in this project.

A very short film about a boy getting no respect at his new school for a certain reason. Idea and production were done within just a few hours in a team of four people. My concerns were directing and filming. Spontanes Projekt, das eigentlich nur als Equipment-Test gedacht war. Idee/Regie und Kameraarbeit lag hier bei mir.

This short film was produced in the context of a course of my Digital Media program of study in Bremen. We had the task to reproduce a professional film as a no-budget production with a maximum length of ten minutes. We chose the 2006 action film Crank (Wikipedia / imdb).

Being only one of several tasks of the course the aim of this exercise only was for us as students to get used to the basics of filming, working with 3D-objects, video cutting and postproduction, but we all being fascinated by video production soonly got the aim to get the project on a semi-professional level, which resulted in our group exceeding the target a little bit. Although still in the context of this course it got more or less a self-contained project for us resulting in an HD-movie. In consequence of our work in an internal award ceremony of the University of Bremen we got the prize for the "best film."

My personal fields of activity were in directing, filming, synchronizing the postproduction. Also I play the character Carlito, the boss of the protagonist, but acting is not exactly the job I see my strengths in.

The work on this little film confirmed me in my plans to do a lot more in film production in the future.

Besides the sketches I draw for my projects, I sometimes draw bigger images as a hobby. Here are the two of them I like the most.
